Community Engagement Forums
Our outreach to support caregivers, promote brain health, and improve outcomes for elders with dementia and their families is called Community Engagement Forums. These are a two hour event most often held at a movie theater to include:
-
Screening of the documentary film, My Mama Joe, Hope & Help
-
Post-film discussion with an area panel of experts in film themes like: caregiving support, use of insurance options, dementia navigation, healthy aging, and more
-
Reference guide with information from trusted agencies and organizations
-
Complimentary concessions combo/light refreshments
These events are FREE, open to the public, and appropriate for all ages and audiences. A true community event, we partner with Area Agencies on Aging, researchers, churches, elected officials, universities, public health organizations, healthcare practitioners, and other non-profits to bring a wealth of information and resources so that individuals and families can better connect to the support needed.
We are in planning mode for 2026, if your organization is interested in hosting an outreach event, contact us at info@mamajoeproject.com.
Map of Events 2025-2056

In 2025 The Mama Joe Project conducted over 40 events, and anticipates similar for 2026. Whether it is a Community Engagement Forum, workshop, or conference presentation, The Mama Joe Project is open to discussion about partnering for educational outreach in your community. Events are most impactful when we can assemble a wide array of leaders and organizations from throughout the community.
