Community Outreach Network
Our distribution plan includes outreach to those individuals that research suggest are most vulnerable to dementia and health disparity, including: low-income, women, and Blacks/African Americans. We're developing the Community Outreach Network which includes churches, civic organizations and agencies, who collaborate with us to host engagement forums.
These events start fall 2024, and include screening of the My Mama Joe film, followed by Q&A with facilitators who provide information and support on topics related to the film and eldercare like: insurance coverage, money management, testing for early detection, participation in clinical trials, localized treatment options, and more. Each attendee will receive a workbook/resource guide and local contacts for support.
This is part of our grass roots effort to educate families and connect them to appropriate community and national resources. At present we’re planning events in: Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas. As support allows, we’re willing to partner and expand these outreach efforts to other states, as well offer a virtual option.
